Hi!
I am terribly sorry but the shoot I planned for this assignment will actually take place this weekend, therefore I don't have any pictures to show you for now. This is entirely my fault as I didn't read the assignment sheet properly and didn't realize that the blog pictures weren't due at the same time as the prints...I will however upload the pictures on here as soon as I shoot them.

Child Project
For this project, I took pictures of my cousin Simone who is a little over one year old. It was extremely rainy and dark that day and Simone was sick, so I decided to go with the flow and take blurry emotional portraits of her.
here are some extra pictures, just for fun :

Catchlight research
subtle catchlights using natural light by David Urbanke
technically this isn't really a catchlight, even though there are some reflections in the model's eyes - I just thought this picture by Kenta Murakami was really interesting

In all these pictures, the catchlights help to add depth to the models' expression, making them seem more alive. In other cases, if the catchlights were bigger, they could even show the environment surrounding the models which I think can be interesting in certain situations.
Fill Flash research
here are a few images by Noah Kalina (http://www.noahkalina.com/) :
I think Noah Kalina's use of fill flash is a bit harsh at times but overall it successfully creates an interesting atmosphere. By using this fill flash technique, he manages to get a lot of details in his main subjects while underexposing his background a little bit
